Conducted a workshop and lecture program with ethno-botanist Gary Paul Nabhan for local community leaders, ranchers, and educators to address conservation issues related to local food production
Conducted outreach and education efforts to inform students, scientists, and natural resource management professionals about our work
Developed relationships and partnerships with non-profit organizations dedicated to conservation (The Nature Conservancy, Wood River Land Trust, Idaho Conservation League, The Conservation Fund, Sawtooth Science Institute, Intermountain Bird Observatory), professional scientists (University of California Berkeley, University of Idaho, Idaho State University, New Mexico State University, Princeton University, Brigham Young University- Idaho), and land managers (Bureau of Land Management, United States Forest Service, Idaho Department of Fish and Game, National Park Service).

-
Pronghorn Migration
We document and work to preserve pronghorn migration routes in the Pioneer Mountains.
-
Predator Coexistence
We work with local ranchers, nonprofits, and government agencies to help livestock coexist with apex predators using nonlethal deterrents.
-
Injured Veterans
Every year we hosted injured veterans and their VA therapists for week-long sessions of equine therapy in Idaho’s backcountry.
-
Landscape Conservation
Our landscape conservation efforts protect core habitat for wide-ranging wildlife species including pronghorn, sage grouse, deer, and elk, and for sensitive and/or declining species. We also work to protect free flowing waterways and associated riparian habitats.
-
Bird Count Surveys
In partnership with Jay Carlisle of the Intermountain Bird Observatory, we have gathered two decades-worth of bird count data in important riparian habitats.
-
BSU Soundscape Study
Dr. Jesse Barber of BSU conducts research at Lava Lake and investigates the effect of artificial noise on animal behavior.
